This adapter harness as the correct original type terminals and allows you to use a 55-56 Chevy truck ignition switch in a 57-59 Chevy truck. The correct key start ignition switch for a 57-59 truck is not reproduced and this allows the use of a 55-56 switch which are readily available. The 55-56 switch fits perfectly in the 57-59 dash and functions exactly the same.
