Here’s a little flashback in my 50 years of memories in the business. This is my first catalog that my mother typed up, and I mimeographed it off to take to shows and send out. Check out some of the prices NOS Door edge Guards, and NOS scratch shields 9.00. in the early 70s when I went to my first Pomona it was two days I set up on Saturday and passed out about 100 catalogs which I thought was enough. I drove back to Santa Barbara that night and ran off another hundred for Sunday. Great memories this catalog was from about 1972.
50 years of memories! It’s hard to believe today with all the reproduction parts available for Chevrolet trucks that I made the very first part back in the early 70s. The very first part was the vent window rubber for 55 to 59. This is me on my kitchen floor opening up the first box of vent window rubber.
50 years of memories! This picture was taken on my way to yellow freight in the early days. Probably late 70s when I have stepped up my game from 55 to 7 and now including 58 and nine if you remember I bought this 1956 orange truck and that’s what started it all, my son and daughter still drive it today and my daughter drove it all through high school. Family heirloom for sure those fenders that are credit up in the back of the green truck or some of the fenders that I
scrounged while I was rodeoing.
50 years ago I started selling 55-57 Chevy GMC truck parts. Soon after I started a 13 year old boy rode his bike by my shop. Gabe Carbajal thanks for decades of work and friendship. When I asked him if he wanted a job he had to go home and ask his dad. In about half an hour later he and his dad showed up and the rest is history. The 57 root beer brown truck in the photo is taken in front of Merrill Bean Chevrolet in Ogden Utah during the 1981 Chevy GMC truckin’ Nationals. Gabe built that truck from the ground up before he even had a drivers license.
More memories from the last 50 years. This is the mid 70s when I bought a big load of takeoff rear bumpers from Hill Air Force Base. I looked pretty happy.
These two photos were taken in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Tulsa truckin’ Nationals that I produced in 1982. That’s me, I kneel down looking at NOS Parts . I’m wondering now if I bought the Cameo beauty rings the wiper motor the washer and the antenna. I’m sure there was other goodies there. The other picture is
